RUNderful Wednesday

The middle of the week is here, WOOHOO!!!! We've made it this far guys, so SMILE (even if the track is rained out like it is today, again). Le sigh.

YOU are responsible for your own happiness; no one else can do it for you. 😊😊 I love reading funny or inspirational things, whatever makes me smile or think about something in a different way. My pick of the week is:

Our lives aren't defined by ONE thing.

I know this seems like common sense, but so many of us have that one regret and wish about changing the past. "I wish I could go back in time and change ____." or "I wish I would've taken on a favorite sport earlier, I would be SO much better." Weather we wish we could have gotten a jump on the competition, made a batter choice or just had some clarity for the future, the reality is we can't. That one thing never defined who we are. In fact, a string of wrong turns doesn't define who we are; what defines us is how we choose to react to those things and move forward. I fully believe in personal accountability, and while we may go through portions in our lives that are, in some cases, beyond tough, keep pushing ahead every day.

This is were running comes in - BMX too. In fact, any sport or favorite thing that you like and want to be better at. Practicing that thing or training or going for ONE run is good, it's a step in the right direction, but it's what you do after that initial step that keeps you going. After a run or a bike ride, for example, you have a great day. After MANY runs or bike rides, your life has been changed for the better because not only are you better at that thing you love so much, you are now in the habit of making a positive change everyday.

Looking back at the sports I love, I feel that I wouldn't have the self love, happiness or confidence I do without them. Training, competing and meeting other people in the community have changed me for the better, both in body and mind.

What is something that has changed you?
