RUNderful Wednesday: McLovin Bear

This RUNderful Wednesday post is going to be a little different, because right now I'm devastated and I don't know what to do with myself. I'm losing my little baby kitty McLovin Bear to something the specialist thinks may be cancer, and he's only almost 11 years old. It's hard to accept this, and all I can think to do is go for a run.

McLovin came into my life at a time when I needed him the most. I got him from someone who turned out to be highly toxic, and I truly believe the reason I was meant to know that person for the short time I did was to meet this amazing little (well, 16 pound tomcat) kitty with a huge personality. McLovin was always there for me, and we've been through so much together. He came with me to visit friends at other colleges, and he truly loved it. Being so little, he was full of energy and loved meeting new people. I definitely socialized him a ton when he was little lol!

He was one crazy kitten, flying through the air at stuff I had tacked to my college apartment walls to get the tacks out, romping through my shoes, and jumping on my back one time because I was tying a bow behind me and he wanted to pounce!

He is one fun big kitty too. In the mornings he used to lay in the sink in the bathroom and watch me get ready, and he was always ready to grab my nail buffer block out of whatever drawer it was in (he always knew which drawer), and run away with it, me chasing behind him. One time he also took a whole bag of sanitary napkins out from a drawer, brought them out to the back door, ripped them open and scattered them everywhere. When I walked over and found out what he had done I couldn't stop laughing, because he was laying on his back in the middle of the mess, sunning himself.

I've always realized life is short so you spend it with the ones you love, and I have always loved spending time with McLovin and am truly blessed. For whatever time I have left with my little bear, I'm going to cherish, but I want him to have the best quality of life and I know that I can't be selfish. I'm truly blessed to know McLovin and his favorite animal, Honey Bear. I love that for his whole life McLovin has carried around his Honeybear, grooming it and always setting it in the doorway of whatever room he is in. I love you, McLovin. McLovin Bear, McMuffins, McLovinator, Baby Kity, Baby Bear, Bear. I’m glad I have a little time left with you.
